We are building one of the region’s most ambitious e-commerce platforms a high-traffic, multi-region platform engineered for scale, reliability, and exceptional customer experiences. As a Senior Software Development Engineer 3 , you will own critical backend systems that power millions of customer journeys every day, from order placement to successful delivery. This role goes beyond writing code. You will define how systems are designed, drive technical strategy, influence engineering standards, and lead multi-quarter, multi-team initiatives that create lasting business impact.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Build and scale the Delivery Promise Service to deliver accurate, real-time delivery commitments.

  • Design and maintain WMS backend services supporting inventory management, pick-pack-ship workflows, and warehouse operations.

  • Develop TMS capabilities for carrier selection, route optimization, shipment tracking, and delivery status updates.

  • Architect event-driven workflows using Kafka to coordinate systems across warehouse, transport, and customer-facing platforms.

  • Build integrations with logistics providers, carrier APIs, and delivery partners.

  • Engineer highly resilient, fault-tolerant systems capable of handling peak demand during major sales events.

  • Establish strong observability practices through metrics, dashboards, structured logging, tracing, and proactive SLA monitoring.

  • Own and deliver multi-quarter, multi-team technical initiatives with measurable business impact.

  • Make independent architectural decisions while balancing customer needs, technical complexity, and business priorities.

  • Drive collaboration across teams and influence engineering practices beyond your immediate area.

  • Act as a technical leader who raises engineering standards across the organization.

  • Design and evolve scalable systems aligned with long-term business objectives.

  • Solve complex engineering challenges involving scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.

  • Simplify codebases and infrastructure while reducing technical debt and operational complexity.

  • Identify technical risks early and proactively resolve cross-team dependencies.

  • Debug complex production issues, including non-deterministic failures and distributed system challenges.

  • Champion an AI-first engineering culture by adopting AI tools and practices that improve productivity and engineering outcomes.

  • Define technical roadmaps and guide teams through complex engineering initiatives.

  • Lead design discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices.

  • Set quality standards through thoughtful code reviews and technical mentorship.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Coach engineers through actionable feedback and career development support.


Requirements:



  • 7+ years’ experience leading architecture reviews and creating Architectural Decision Records (ADRs).

  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language: Python, Java, or Node.js, with deep understanding of performance characteristics and internals.

  • Proven experience designing, building, and operating large-scale microservices architectures.

  • Strong cloud experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure, including architecture decisions, cost optimization, and multi-region deployments.

  • Expert knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.

  • Experience designing CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and automated quality controls.

  • Advanced database expertise including query optimization, replication, sharding, and high-throughput data modeling.

  • Strong experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka, SQS/SNS, Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ.

  • Deep understanding of caching strategies using Redis, Memcached, and CDN technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of API security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, API gateways, and WAF configurations.

  • Experience working in high-scale domains such as e-commerce, retail, logistics, supply chain, or consumer technology platforms.
