About the role
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to design, build and maintain business-critical enterprise applications. You will work across the stack, partner closely with business users, infrastructure and vendor teams, and take ownership of quality and reliability from design through production support.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and enhance scalable web applications and APIs across the full stack.
- Build and consume RESTful and SOAP-based services to integrate internal and third-party systems.
- Design and optimise relational database schemas, stored procedures and queries.
- Own the delivery lifecycle: requirements gathering, technical design, coding, testing, UAT and release.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement preventive fixes within agreed SLAs.
- Take part in release, change and deployment planning, including post-deployment verification.
- Plan and carry out application and server migrations and modernisation initiatives.
- Automate business processes and build monitoring or dashboard tools for operational visibility.
- Write and maintain technical design and support documentation.
- Mentor junior developers and lead small project workstreams when needed.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET / .NET Core ecosystem (ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Entity Framework).
- Hands-on experience with a modern front-end framework such as React or Angular, plus JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
- Solid experience designing and consuming REST APIs, with exposure to SOAP/XML services.
- Strong SQL Server skills, including T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views and query optimisation.
- Working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation.
- Experience with source control and CI/CD tooling (Git, Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub, SonarQube, artifact repositories).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience in application support, including incident, problem and change management.
