Summary

Senior engineer focusing on system architecture and AI-assisted delivery for utility and energy sectors. Uses TypeScript, React/Next.js, and Node.js to design APIs, data models, and map-based features while mentoring mid-level engineers.

US Software Solutions is a software development company focused on providing digital technologies to the Utilities, Telecommunications, Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, and Gas/Electricity sectors. Thanks to a team consisting exclusively of experts in their field, we are ready to supervise any project, regardless of its complexity and scale.
We're hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to own systems within it. How we work Our engineers work primarily as architects. Much of the implementation is produced through AI-assisted delivery tooling, which means your day is spent deciding what to build and how to structure it, specifying it precisely, reviewing the result critically, and going hands-on for the parts that require real depth. You will write less code than in a traditional senior role and be accountable for more of it. That only works if you know the patterns and the technology well — you cannot review what you don't understand, and reviewing is a large part of the job.
Work schedule:
Monday - Friday from 14:00 till 22:00
  • Own systems end to end: architecture, data model, API design, delivery, and production behavior.
  • Propose and defend architectural decisions.
  • Write specifications precise enough to be implemented without follow-up questions.
  • Review code critically at volume and take ownership of the result.
  • Go deep where automation falls short, query performance, spatial data handling, concurrency, and frontend rendering performance.
  • Build and evolve map-based features that stay responsive on tablets in the field.
  • Maintain shared internal libraries as versioned products used by other teams.
  • Plan and execute database migrations against live systems.
  • Set engineering standards for testing, code quality, and documentation.
  • Mentor mid-level engineers.
  • Work directly with product and business stakeholders on field workflows and push back when requirements don't hold up.
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering, TypeScript-first, across React/Next.js and Node.js.
  • Strong SQL - you can write complex queries directly and diagnose why one is slow.
  • Production experience with an ORM on a large schema, including migrations against live data, and judgment about when to drop to raw SQL.
  • Solid grounding in OOP, design patterns, and relational database design.
  • Experience maintaining a shared internal package or SDK, versioning and managing breaking changes for other teams.
  • Containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD; comfortable owning a service in production.
  • Demonstrable architecture judgment, you can walk us through a design decision, how it played out, and what you'd change.
  • Experience shipping production code with AI coding tools, and the critical eye that comes with it.
  • Fluent Russian, engineering collaboration happens in Russian. Professional English for documentation
  • Competitive salary package;
  • Being part of a international, dynamic work environment;
  • Professional development (seminars, courses);
  • Paid time off (PTO) such as sick days and vacation days;
