## Job Summary
We are looking for a **Senior Software Engineer (SDE III)** who enjoys solving complex backend problems and taking complete ownership of systems. This role is crucial in designing and building high-performance systems that support our financial technology initiatives.
## Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own scalable backend services and APIs using **Java/Spring Boot and/or Golang**.
- Build high-performance systems involving **financial workflows, data processing, and third-party integrations**.
- Design and implement microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Write clean, well-tested, production-grade code and actively participate in code reviews.
- Own the reliability, monitoring, and observability of the systems you build.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and scalability issues.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership on architecture, estimation, prioritization, and delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
- Build systems with a strong emphasis on **security, reliability, data integrity, and compliance**.
## Qualifications
- **6–10 years** of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in **Java and/or Golang**.
- Strong fundamentals in **data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and concurrency**.
- Experience building and scaling backend systems in production.
- Strong understanding of **microservices, APIs, databases, messaging systems, and cloud infrastructure**.
- Experience with **fintech, financial services, or other highly regulated environments** is a strong plus.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup with high ownership and ambiguity.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to identifying risks and technical challenges.
## Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with **PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis** for databases.
- Familiarity with **Kafka/NATS** for messaging.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like **Docker** and **Kubernetes**.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as **AWS** or **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**.
- Experience using **GitHub Actions/Jenkins** for CI/CD.
- Familiarity with observability tools like **Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog** or equivalent.
