Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Cloud
Summary
Build and scale high-volume cloud services for cybersecurity threat detection using event-driven microservices and distributed systems in Go, Java, or Scala.
- Lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products
- Leverage and build cloud based systems to detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence production at a global scale
- Brainstorm, define, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams
- Champion new technologies and techniques while raising the technical IQ of the team
- Mentor and be mentored on web, backend, and data storage technologies
- Re-evaluate products to improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance, and stability
- Own deliverables and remain accountable for results
- Contribute to the open source community
- Build and extend authentication and authorization services supporting the Falcon Platform
- Maintain operational ownership of services, including designing, implementing, and running them in production
Requirements
- Necessary criteria to obtain GovCloud Access, most typically citizenship or PR/GC status
- 8+ years of backend object-oriented development experience in production
- Experience with Golang, Java, Scala, Node.js, Python, or C# (.NET Core)
- Experience with authentication and authorization (AuthN and AuthZ)
- Experience with FGA (Fine-Grained Auth rules)
- Recent experience building high-scale event-driven microservices architecture handling at least 5M events/day
- Ability to scale backend systems using sharding, partitioning, and horizontal scaling
- Degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
- Desire to ship code and experience operating code in production
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges
- Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies
- Team collaboration skills
- Thorough understanding of engineering best practices, testing paradigms, peer code reviews, and resilient architecture
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, iterative programming environment
- Ability to meet commitments on time and produce high-quality, unit-tested, code-reviewed software checked in regularly for continuous integration
- Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes
- Periodically pass additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements
