Senior Software Engineer Backend
Summary
Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services in TypeScript/Node.js for banking, card management, and payment processing, while improving system reliability and observability.
You will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable backend services using TypeScript and Node.js. You will evolve distributed systems for banking, card management, payment processing, and partner integrations; design data models across SQL and NoSQL databases; improve reliability and observability; collaborate on technical solutions; and contribute to code reviews and engineering improvements.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient backend services using TypeScript and Node.js
- Own and evolve distributed systems for banking, card management, payment processing, and partner integrations
- Architect solutions that balance business needs, scalability, maintainability, and security
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on technical solutions
- Improve reliability, performance, logging, and monitoring
- Design data models and storage solutions across SQL and NoSQL databases
- Participate in code reviews and mentor teammates
- Refactor systems, reduce technical debt, and share knowledge
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant experience
- 4+ years of backend software engineering experience
- Professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, design patterns, and algorithms
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Experience building scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications
- Problem-solving skills
