Summary
Lead development of a live bidding/auction platform as a backend/full-stack engineer, building and operating a real-time concurrent system. Core stack: PostgreSQL and Supabase, TypeScript and React, Stripe payments, with strong focus on security, auditing, and reliability.
Salary: £45,000 - 55,000 per year
Requirements:- 5+ years as a full-stack or backend developer, including experience building and largely independently operating a live system.
- In-depth PostgreSQL knowledge, including database functions, transactions, row-level security, and indexing.
- Supabase experience with login, security rules, real-time updates, server functions, backups, and recovery.
- Experience with real-time and concurrent systems where many people act at once, such as auctions, bookings, or trading.
- Stripe experience with card charges, full and partial refunds, webhooks, chargebacks, and failed refunds.
- Security and audit experience, including append-only logs, role-based access, and two-administrator approvals for sensitive actions.
- TypeScript and React skills.
- Strongly preferred: ability to review and fix AI-generated code.
- Strongly preferred: knowledge of GDPR and UK data protection.
- Strongly preferred: experience building to WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.
- Strongly preferred: experience with email, push notifications, and system monitoring.
- Strongly preferred: experience running load tests on a live system.

We offer an annual salary of £45,000–£55,000, casual dress, and on-site parking. The role is hybrid remote in Omagh BT78 2AE. Our platform is hosted in the Ireland region.
