Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement microservices architecture principles and best practices.
- Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software development. Strong proficiency in Java and extensive experience with the Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security). Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns. Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs. Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate). Experience with messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus. Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is beneficial. Experience with version control systems like Git. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Familiarity with the Paarl area or willingness to relocate is advantageous.
