Reports to: Department Manager, Development and Planning

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining core features and components for DSM/ECM projects. This includes creating plugins, web applications, and custom extensions on the proprietary platform. The role also involves coordinating with the technical program manager to track billable hours and collaborating with a cross‑functional team of engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of key features and components that support KYOCERA solutions worldwide.
  • Analyze and design core architecture, feature sets, and classes/components for building user interfaces.
  • Develop back‑end solutions that align with project requirements, company guidelines, and best practices.
  • Guide the team to meet project objectives and schedules; review peer designs and code, mentor, and resolve issues.
  • Provide timely project and progress reports to management.
  • Research and advocate new technologies, tools, and ideas to improve efficiency and development quality.
  • Resolve complex field or system issues and maintain system integrity, architecture conformance, and configuration consistency.
  • Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and enhance engineering efficiency.
  • Drive adoption of AI‑driven workflows, identifying opportunities to optimize development and reduce technical debt.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Over 4 years of software development experience designing and building web applications.
  • Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted software development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cloud Code, Cursor).
  • Strong coding experience in C# .NET, Go, or Java with related web technologies such as WebSocket, REST, and JSON.
  • Full‑stack web application knowledge in JavaScript/TypeScript is preferred.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis).
  • Designing and building scalable REST APIs and event‑driven systems (RabbitMQ/AMQP, Kafka).
  • Experience with containerization and CI/CD tools (Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, Git CI/CD).
  • Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design; strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks such as XUnit or equivalent.
  • Understanding of software development life cycle, architectural, and design principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of micro‑service architecture, distributed systems, load balancing, networking, and cloud infrastructures.
  • Experience with printing/scanning software solutions is preferred.

Base pay range: $130,000–$150,000 annually, adjusted based on market, qualifications, and performance. Total compensation includes benefits and potential bonuses.
