Senior Software Engineer, Backend - World ID

You will own and operate backend software components: design, implement, debug, test, instrument, and scale services and APIs. You will build SDKs and cloud integrations and develop privacy-preserving attestation and verification mechanisms. You will improve security, reliability, and performance, and enable third-party developer integrations. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, production-ready systems.

Responsibilities

• Own key backend software components and services
• Design and implement scalable secure systems and APIs
• Build and maintain SDKs and cloud integrations
• Develop privacy-preserving attestation and verification mechanisms
• Improve security privacy compliance reliability and performance
• Debug monitor and instrument systems to ensure reliability
• Collaborate with product managers designers and engineers to deliver features
• Support open decentralized integrations for third-party developers

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and developing backend software
• Strong system design skills with focus on scalability reliability and maintainability
• Experience building SDKs and cloud integrations
• Familiarity with privacy-preserving techniques and security best practices
• Strong collaboration communication and prioritization skills
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and changing environments
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
