Senior Software Engineer – E‑Commerce (Hyderabad)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to design and deliver complex features for our SaaS product platforms. As a senior member of a collaborative pod, you will own features end‑to‑end—leveraging AI tools across the development lifecycle to ensure high‑quality outcomes. This role combines technical leadership, hands‑on backend development, and mentoring, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and innovation.

Work Location: Hyderabad

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and implementation of complex backend features with a DevOps mindset.
• Collaborate with Technical PMs to translate product requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• Use AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Windsurf, etc.) to accelerate development and validation.
• Review AI‑generated and peer code for correctness, security, and performance.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage and drive improvements in AI‑assisted development practices.
• Design and implement REST APIs following established patterns.
• Build scalable SaaS applications using Java, JSP, Node.js, and XML technologies.
• Support both UI and backend services within your pod’s domain.
• Mentor engineers on effective AI usage, specification writing, and code review practices.
• Share knowledge across pods and contribute to workflow optimization.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable SaaS software.
• Strong backend development skills with Java, JSP, Node.js, XML.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS/Sass, Angular, React, TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases (SQL Server, MySQL).
• Experience with REST API design and source control (Git).
• Hands‑on experience with AI coding assistants.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and code review skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers through code review or technical guidance.

Preferred

• Exposure to spec‑driven, agentic AI workflows.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with Elastic, Apache Solr, Lucene.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
• Understanding of testable application design principles.
• Track record of driving adoption of new tools and practices across teams.
