Senior Software Engineer (C++)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop embedded product software to integrate with mechanical, electrical, and distributed computing systems.
• Translate creative UI design concepts into reality using C++ and Qt QML
• Bring prototypes into C++ product level software in an FDA regulated environment.
• Translate high-level customer needs into technical options while analyzing trade-offs and business impact.
• Document designs and specifications per design control processes.
• Conform to Industry Standards for Medical Device Software (IEC 62304)

Must have:

• A results and performance driven attitude with strong sense of accountability is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related degree is required.
• 5 years experience in a direct software engineering or software architectural role.
• Experience developing Qt applications and/or Qt QML plugins, or with similar development tools.
• Expertise with C/C++ programming and multi-threaded applications.
• Demonstrated ability working across subject areas with internal and external partners.
• Strong collaboration, proven technical leadership capabilities, and conflict resolution skills.

Preferred:

• Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with embedded electrical and/or software design.
• Experience with Distributed Data Services (DDS), e.g. (RTI Connext, OpenDDS, MQTT, or similar distributed data sharing libraries).
• Experience within a medical device or other highly regulated environment.
• Experience debugging embedded hardware systems.
• Design control experience.
