Senior Software Engineer
This is primarily a backend engineering role. Although the team works across the full stack, we are looking for engineers who have built, deployed and operated production microservices using Kotlin or Java. Frontend experience is a plus, but it is not the main selection criterion.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build, deploy and operate customer-facing microservices in a business- critical e-commerce environment.
- Own services throughout their lifecycle: development, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Work hands-on with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering practices.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, QA and engineering colleagues in a cross-functional agile team.
- Contribute to code reviews, architecture discussions, testing, security and performance improvements.
- Participate in incident analysis, debugging and production support when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong backend development experience with Kotlin and/or Java in production environments.
- Experience building or owning microservices using frameworks such as Spring Boot or Ktor.
- Hands-on cloud experience (ideally GCP; AWS or Azure also relevant).
- Experience with databases, messaging systems and distributed systems.
- Comfortable working in English in technical discussions and interviews.
- Interested in learning and occasionally contributing on the frontend when required.
Nice to have
- Cloud-native development and containerized deployments (Docker).
- Google Cloud Platform (Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, GKE).
- Terraform, Kubernetes and DevOps practices.
- Vue.js 3, Nuxt 3, Vite or other modern frontend frameworks.
- Monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, ELK).
- Experience with security, privacy or performance engineering.
Must-have technical experience
- Kotlin and/or Java backend development.
- REST APIs and microservice architectures.
- CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar).
- SQL databases and data modelling.
- Version control with Git.
