Role Description

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and operate scalable backend services and automated workflows for our Data Platform team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java or Golang, RESTful services, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms. Experience with Apache Kafka is a strong plus. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate internal systems, improve deployment efficiency, and ensure system reliability, availability, and performance.

This is a full-time role based in China, preferably Shanghai.

English and Mandarin communication skills and 1–2 hours of working-time overlap with US Pacific Time are required.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop critical workflows that coordinate and integrate with various internal systems to improve operational efficiency and quality of service.
• Design and develop automation for CI/CD pipelines built on Gradle, Jenkins, Spinnaker, and GitHub.
• Deploy, manage, and monitor applications in Kubernetes clusters.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment efficiency and system reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring high availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java or Golang, including backend development with frameworks like Netty and ServiceTalk.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, including broker internals, producers/consumers, and ecosystem tooling, is a strong plus.
• Experience building RESTful services, working with concurrent systems, and designing resilient, high-performance backend components.
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Gradle, Jenkins, Spinnaker, and GitHub.
• Solid working knowledge of cloud services such as AliCloud, Tencent Cloud, AWS, and GCP, including deploying and managing applications in the cloud.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes for container orchestration and application monitoring.
• Experience building systems for high availability, scalability, and performance.
