Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer - Data Engineering to join a technology team in Dubai, UAE, on an onsite basis. The position is suited to a data engineering professional with 5-8+ years of experience and strong hands-on expertise in Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, Amazon Redshift, AWS data services, data warehousing, and large-scale data processing.

The successful candidate will design, develop, maintain, and support data engineering solutions using AWS services including S3, Glue, and EMR. The role requires strong experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, dimensional data modeling, Python and PySpark, business intelligence platforms, version control, and Agile development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data engineering solutions.
• Develop and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL processes.
• Build and maintain data pipelines using AWS data services.
• Work with Amazon Redshift for data warehousing and analytical workloads.
• Develop data solutions using Amazon S3, AWS Glue, and Amazon EMR.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop dimensional data models for analytical and reporting requirements.
• Use Python and PySpark for data processing and automation.
• Optimize data processing workflows for performance and reliability.
• Integrate data from multiple sources into enterprise data platforms.
• Support business intelligence and reporting requirements.
• Work with Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
• Maintain code using Git and established version-control practices.
• Participate in Agile development processes and technical discussions.
• Provide production support and troubleshoot data pipeline issues.

• Participate in on-call or production support activities when required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of professional experience in software or data engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Oracle SQL and PL/SQL experience.
• Strong experience with Amazon Redshift.
• Strong AWS experience, particularly with:
  • Amazon S3
  • AWS Glue
  • Amazon EMR
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT development.
• Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling.
• Experience using Python for data processing and automation.
• Experience with PySpark.
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, or Tableau.
• Experience with Git and version-control systems.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration capabilities.
• Production support or on-call experience is preferred.

Salary, Benefits & Career Growth

Salary: AED 10,000-13,000 per month
