Senior engineer on Helix's Data Experiences team designs and builds full-stack, cloud-native products that let researchers and health systems tap one of the world's largest clinicogenomic datasets. Core stack: Go/Python/TypeScript, distributed systems on AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, serverless, and IaC via CI/CD; based in Mexico City (hybrid or remote within Mexico).

- Own deliverables from idea to feature completion and production.
- Improve and adopt exceptional engineering practices for the organization, building the systematic approaches, like testing and platform standards, that the team works within.
- Use AI in day to day development, direct coding agents, and help drive AI adoption in engineering workflows.
- Mentor other engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and education.
- 6+ years development experience in Go, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or similar.
- Proficiency with distributed systems built on cloud infrastructure, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- You've worked as an infrastructure engineer or have built complex cloud infrastructure projects from the ground up.
- Strong production Kubernetes experience, including multi-tenant workloads.
- Experience developing and owning serverless services, such as AWS API Gateway, Lambda, and container-based microservices.
- Experience architecting large, high-scale durable backend or frontend systems.
- Experience designing and operating event-driven distributed systems at scale.
- You believe in owning your cloud infrastructure and have experience driving changes through CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, such as AWS CDK, Terraform, or Pulumi.
- Thought leadership and a successful track record mentoring other engineers.
- Affinity for an engineering culture that emphasizes Agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity working with regulated software systems, such as HIPAA, ISO, or FDA.
- Experience supporting researchers, scientists, or other technical end users.
- Familiarity working in an agile environment.

- Competitive Compensation: A strong base salary plus an annual performance bonus.
- Expected Helix Base: $$114,750-$149,625 MXN/monthly
- Expected Helix Discretionary Annual Bonus: 10% of your annual salary

- Hybrid & Remote Flexibility:
- Hybrid: Our office is located at WeWork - Varsovia, Mexico City. We gather intentionally in our office space once per week to work on things like pair programming/live collaboration, skillshare sessions, social segments, team lunches, and volunteering opportunities. Juárez, Cuauhtémoc, CDMX.
- Remote (for team members living 80 km or more outside Mexico City): We'll invite you to our CDMX office 3-6 times a year for key training and team meetings. These visits are a great chance to connect in person and strengthen our Helix community. Helix cover travel and accommodation.
