Senior Software Engineer - Data
Summary
Senior data engineer building and scaling the data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, and storage systems (e.g. Apache Iceberg, MongoDB) that let Snke's R&D teams automate testing and evaluation of medical software on large datasets. Core stack includes Python, Go, TypeScript, Terraform, CI/CD, and AWS, with FHIR/DICOM exposure as a plus.
As (Senior) Software Engineer – Data at Snke you will help build and scale the data infrastructure that empowers our Research & Development teams to automate the testing and evaluation of medical software using large-scale datasets. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and operating modern data platforms, pipelines, and services that enable efficient data processing and analysis.
You will:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient data platforms and architectures.
- Design, develop, andmaintainrobust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Build,deployand managedatastorage systems and databases, such as Apache Iceberg or MongoDB.
- Develop,optimizeand enforcedata quality, lineage, compliance, and security controlsacross the system.
- Writing Servicesfor data ingestion,accessand processing
- Collaborate with data analysts to support reporting, analytics, and machine learning use cases.
- Document data models, processes, architectures, and best practices.
- Contribute to a collaborative and innovative engineering culture while working alongside a talented team at our Munich headquarters
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong experience in data engineering and modern data platform development.
- Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data engineering best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Python, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, and/or Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience with modern software development practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience building and operating cloud-based solutions, ideally on AWS.
- Familiarity with healthcare standards such as FHIR or DICOM is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and pragmatic approach to work.
- A collaborative mindset, excellent teamwork skills, and a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
- Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage.
