Senior Software Engineer (DevOps & Platform Engineering)
Summary
Senior Software Engineer on DNA's (Telenor Group) Digital Channels team in Helsinki, building and operating shared platform capabilities — CI/CD, observability, cloud infrastructure, self-service tooling — plus AI-assisted and agentic development practices that help autonomous teams ship business-critical digital services faster.
DNA Digital Channels builds and runs customer-facing digital services such as dna.fi , online sales, and self-service for both B2C and B2B customers. These services are business-critical and require continuous development with high standards for quality, reliability, security, and maintainability.
We at DNA believe software development is undergoing a fundamental shift. We are building the capabilities, tools, and ways of working that enable small teams to create customer value faster than ever before. Our goal is to bring AI into production software and everyday engineering in a controlled, responsible, and value-creating way. If you are excited about helping shape that future, you'll feel at home at DNA.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the next generation of software development at DNA. You believe in knowledge sharing and in the power of a brave, forward-looking, and innovative developer community willing to challenge existing ways of working.
In this hands-on role, you will build and operate the shared platform, automation, and agentic development capabilities that help our teams deliver independently and efficiently at scale. You will develop these capabilities together with product teams, validate them in real delivery work, and turn proven solutions into reusable tools, practices, and guardrails. As an experienced engineer, you will encourage and help other teams adopt the capabilities through hands‑on collaboration, technical guidance, and clear documentation.
The position is based in Helsinki, but you can work remotely from anywhere in Finland in line with our flexible work concept. We also value regular face‑to‑face collaboration, as working side by side helps us maintain a strong team spirit and supports fast‑paced development and learning.
What you’ll do
- help foster a culture of experimentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning that enables faster delivery of customer value
- build reusable platform and agentic development capabilities that improve software delivery, quality, and developer productivity
- develop platform services that increase team autonomy, including CI/CD, observability, cloud infrastructure, and self‑service tooling.
- validate new capabilities with development teams and scale successful practices across the organization.
- collaborate with business, design, and engineering stakeholders to deliver customer value and continuously improve how software is developed at DNA.
What we’re looking for
- Hands‑on experience using AI‑assisted development tools, automated workflows, and developer tooling, with the ability to learn and utilize emerging technologies such as agent frameworks and MCP.
- Understanding of evaluation, human oversight, security, and responsible AI usage, including when automation should complement rather than replace human judgment.
- Strong software engineering experience and the ability to design, build, and operate maintainable production solutions.
- Experience building and operating modern cloud‑native systems, including APIs, containers, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability, and reliability practices.
- Ability to balance team autonomy with shared standards, reusable capabilities, and governance.
- This position requires an approved security clearance statement.
Why you should apply
- shape the future engineering model of one of Finland's largest digital service environments that enables small, autonomous DevOps teams
- apply AI and agentic engineering to real production services and delivery workflows
- influence technology choices, engineering practices, developer experience, and ways of working
- work in an organization that values ownership, collaboration, experimentation, quality, and continuous learning
