Senior Software Engineer
Summary
Build and maintain scalable enterprise platforms and APIs for a fintech firm, collaborating with architects and product teams using modern languages and cloud-native practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality software applications and enterprise platforms that support business and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established software engineering standards and best practices.
- Participate in system design, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure solution quality, scalability, and security.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software architecture, development processes, and engineering practices.
- Develop and maintain application programming interfaces (APIs), system integrations, and backend services where required.
- Support software deployment activities and collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure reliable release management.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for software components and system enhancements.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 10-15 years of software development experience in enterprise or commercial software environments.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience designing and developing scalable software applications using modern software development frameworks.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, and system integration principles.
- Experience working with relational databases and database design concepts.
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and version control systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, insurance, or technology organisations.
