Senior Software Engineer, Finastra Trade Finance

  • You must develop, enhance, and maintain Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance applications using Finastra Trade Innovation (FTI), Fusion Corporate Channels (FCC), and Finastra SDK.
  • You are expected to customise platform components including business rules, validations, workflows, screens, templates, reports, message mappings, and integration points based on business and regulatory requirements.
  • You must develop and troubleshoot Java/Jakarta EE components and support application deployment and issue resolution across JBoss/WildFly environments.
  • You are expected to design, develop, and support integrations between Trade Finance platforms and downstream/upstream systems using REST, SOAP, ESB, MQ, SFTP, APIs, and batch interfaces.
  • You must perform SQL-based troubleshooting, data validation, and investigation across enterprise databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  • You are expected to support platform enhancements, regulatory changes, SWIFT messaging updates, and integration changes throughout the development lifecycle.
  • You must participate in unit testing, SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution, production deployment, and post-release stabilisation activities.
  • You are expected to investigate application and integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes across development and production environments.
  • You must maintain version-controlled code, technical documentation, deployment procedures, test evidence, and operational runbooks in accordance with SDLC and change management standards.
  • You are expected to work closely with technical leads, solution architects, business users, testers, and upstream/downstream technology teams to deliver platform enhancements and resolve technical issues.
  • You should apply your understanding of Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance processes when analysing requirements, defects, workflows, message mappings, and system integrations.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • You must have 3–7 years of hands-on software development experience, preferably within banking, transaction banking, Trade Finance, Supply Chain Finance, corporate banking, or payments.
  • You must have hands-on experience with Finastra SDK, including customisation, extension development, configuration, compilation, and deployment support.
  • You must have practical experience with Finastra Trade Innovation (FTI) and/or Fusion Corporate Channels (FCC).
  • Strong hands-on development experience with Java/Jakarta EE, with exposure to Spring, web services, XML, JSON, and Maven or equivalent build tools.
  • Practical experience with JBoss/WildFly, including application deployment, datasource configuration, application logs, runtime troubleshooting, and deployment packages.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration technologies including REST, SOAP, MQ, ESB, SFTP, API integration, batch processing, and data/payload mapping.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably Oracle or PostgreSQL. Experience across the software delivery lifecycle, including unit testing, SIT, UAT, regression testing, release deployment, defect management, and production support.
  • Good understanding of Trade Finance and/or Supply Chain Finance, including products such as Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Documentary Collections, invoice financing, supplier finance, and related operational workflows.
  • Exposure to SWIFT trade messaging, MT7xx/MT798, ISO 20022, CBPR+, structured address requirements, or regulatory-driven platform changes is an advantage.
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, GitLab, Maven, Nexus, SonarQube, or similar development and DevSecOps tools is an advantage.
  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or containerised application environments is an advantage.
  • Finastra certifications or vendor‑approved training in Finastra SDK/platform development is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to understand technical defects in the context of business processes and system workflows.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical, business, testing, and support teams.
