Role Description This full-time remote Senior Software Engineer role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software systems that support ForwardCare’s behavioral health platforms. The role involves building and optimizing back-end services and APIs, integrating AI-driven components, and ensuring reliability, security, and performance across distributed systems. The Senior Software Engineer collaborates closely with product, clinical operations, and data teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, conduct code reviews, and mentor other engineers. Day-to-day activities include coding, architectural design, troubleshooting production issues, improving development processes, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications and services.
• Hands-on expertise in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database design.
• Advanced skills in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns for building maintainable, modular code.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Track record of leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and contributing to architectural decisions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or other regulated industries is a plus, especially familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
