Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack) based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to build high-impact software that improves digital experiences for patients and healthcare providers.
You will contribute across the full technology stack, combining modern frontend development with scalable backend engineering.
The position focuses on delivering performant web applications, robust APIs, and intuitive experiences within a highly engineering-driven environment.
You will work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to turn complex requirements into valuable, maintainable solutions.
As a senior engineer, you will influence technical direction, development standards, architecture, and engineering practices across the team.
The role also provides exposure to modern technologies, AI-assisted development tools, and complex healthcare integrations.

• Lead the technical vision and delivery of high-performance APIs and end-user experiences using Ruby on Rails, React, and TypeScript.
• Build and maintain scalable full-stack web applications serving patient and provider experiences.
• Develop clean, reliable APIs using REST and GraphQL while establishing efficient data-fetching models.
• Design and implement responsive, high-performance frontend experiences using modern React patterns and technologies.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver high-impact features that balance user experience, technical quality, and maintainability.
• Contribute to evolving software development, testing, and engineering standards to strengthen technical excellence across the team.
• Develop automated tests across the technology stack using tools such as RSpec, React Testing Library, Cypress, and Playwright.
• Participate in modern CI/CD and deployment processes, including GitHub Actions.
• Make thoughtful architectural and technical decisions while balancing product requirements, scalability, performance, and code complexity.
• Lead or contribute to complex engineering projects and help align cross-functional teams around technical solutions.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support platform reliability and respond to issues outside standard working hours.
• Apply strong data security, privacy, and ethical technology practices when designing and developing software.
• Explore and apply AI-assisted development tools where they can improve engineering productivity and software delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering practices, architecture, development workflows, and platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience building and delivering scalable web applications across the full software stack.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong professional experience with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend development patterns, with particular attention to web performance and responsiveness.
• Strong backend engineering experience, including the design and development of scalable services and clean REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Professional experience with Ruby on Rails and modern JavaScript ecosystems is highly desirable.
• Proficiency writing SQL for relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience implementing automated testing across frontend and backend layers using tools such as RSpec, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience with modern deployment pipelines and CI/CD practices, including GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalable application design, frontend performance, and data-fetching strategies.
• Experience making large-scale frontend architectural or design decisions and configuring development or build tooling is preferred.
• Experience leading complex technical projects, influencing architecture, and coordinating effectively across multiple teams is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Gemini, or Claude is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare technology or with integrations across the broader U.S. healthcare ecosystem is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an iterative Agile environment with minimal direction.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation supporting platform reliability.
• Strong commitment to data security, privacy, and responsible technology practices.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent and ongoing basis without requiring employer sponsorship.
