Position Overview
At GCash, we develop innovative financial solutions. The Technology & Operations team seeks a senior software engineer with strong IT and analytic skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned modules/tasks and ensure high-quality code.
- Write, test, troubleshoot, and maintain software programs.
- Assist QA in diagnosing system problems and review/reconcile legacy code.
- Review code and environment changes to minimize performance impact.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, build & release, database and related teams for rapid, efficient deployment to production.
- Create reusable components, templates, code libraries.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of software development experience.
- Background in IT, computer science, or software engineering, capable of reading/writing code in multiple languages.
- Experience with cloud and on‑premise server environments and integration technologies.
- Developed third‑party APIs (e.g., REST, SOAP/WSDL) and worked with Google, Facebook, and other web services.
- Proficient in Java, MySQL, Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3.
- Knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu/Red*Hat), MySQL, Java open‑source environments.
- Experience using AWS, SES, SMTP, Linux OS, cron.
- Exposure to DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for automation of deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications is advantageous.
