Senior Software Engineer (Java), Computer Assisted Coding (International)

Location: Dublin, Ireland (remote) Openings: 1 Experience: 5 to 8 years

Engagement: Full-time, 12-month engagement from January 2027

About the role

Own the Java, Node.js and AWS parts of an international extension of a computer assisted coding platform used by hospital systems, working alongside a mainly .NET team.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Java and Node.js services supporting localized coding workflows.
• Build integrations with other product teams and AWS services.
• Support new technology adoption as the product expands internationally.
• Write unit tests and resolve defects raised by QA.

How the team works

• Agile scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Jira for work tracking and daily time entry in Jira Tempo.
• Unit tests with every change, peer code reviews and alignment to the client's architecture standards.
• Responsible use of GitHub Copilot within client-approved policies, with all AI-assisted code reviewed and tested.

Must have

• 5+ years of professional development in Java.
• Node.js and JavaScript experience.
• AWS services experience.
• SQL and relational database design.
• REST API development.

Nice to have

• C# or .NET exposure.
• Healthcare interoperability (HL7, FHIR).
• Microservices experience.

Pay: €35.00-€40.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Dublin, County Dublin
