Senior Software Engineer I

The Senior Software Engineer I on the Intelligent Automation Solutions team is responsible for designing, building, delivering, and supporting scalable, cloud-native automated workflow applications that power critical business processes at Symetra. This role combines strong engineering execution with system design, DevOps practices, and mentorship, helping support and evolve existing AWS-native solutions.

Working within an agile, cross-functional team, this individual partners with developers, business stakeholders, and technical experts to deliver robust, high-performing solutions that meet business needs and ensure reliability and availability. Key initiatives include enhancing automated workflows, enabling straight-through processing, supporting enterprise priorities, and advancing the organization’s AWS-native capabilities.
