Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Google Cloud

- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, Site Reliability Engineer (SREs), and other engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
- Design and build pipelines to collect signals such as machine/Virtual Machine (VM) usage/reservation, etc.
- Analyze complex system interactions and data flows to ensure data quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Lead the technical design and implementation of new features and system improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in complex distributed systems.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- Experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as C++, Java, Go, or Python.
- Experience with SQL and data analysis.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with Google's infrastructure and data technologies (e.g., Flume, Compute infrastructure, Colossus, Spanner, Plx, IDX).
- Familiarity with Google Compute Engine (GCE) architecture and components.
- Proficiency in one batch data processing framework (Apache Spark, Apache Beam, Flume).
