Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Google Cloud Networking
Summary
Designs and builds Google Cloud’s hybrid/multi-cloud networking infrastructure, including data and control planes, and supports Kubernetes-based network virtualization for VMs and containers.
In this role, you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

- Design and develop network connectivity solution for hybrid/multi cloud, involving data plane and control plane elements.
- Implement new networking features for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) platforms along with other members of the team.
- Help external GDC customers who hit issues in production clusters.
- Design and develop network virtualization solutions for Container/Virtual Machine workloads running on kubernetes platforms.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in C++, C, or Python.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networking, or experience with compute technologies or hardware architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes (K8s) on cloud.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, Routing, VLANs, Load Balancing, etc.).
