Senior Software Engineer (Java)
Our client is a well-established global organisation with a large, internationally connected IT function. They're seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to bring technical depth and engineering leadership to the full-cycle delivery of critical API-powered platforms and web applications.

The Role
- Take senior ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of business-critical API-driven platforms and modern web applications
- Architect and deliver robust REST-based APIs, balancing scalability, performance, maintainability, and security
- Act as the technical authority for senior design stakeholders, translating UX ambitions into sound, deliverable engineering solutions
- Champion engineering best practices - from coding standards and code quality to CI/CD pipeline management and secure delivery
- Drive strategic technology decisions in collaboration with global teams, contributing to integration activities and architecture direction
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on Java development experience, specifically with Java 17 or 21 (essential)
- Proven React skills for front-end development (essential)
- Solid experience with REST API development and Spring Boot
- A deep understanding of secure, cloud-native application development
- Any familiarity with AI-assisted engineering or generative/agentic AI is a welcome bonus
- The ability to manage workload independently and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent written and spoken English to support effective cross-regional collaboration
