About this Role (Responsibilities):



We are seeking mission-driven back end engineers excited by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful innovation at the intersection of AI, life sciences, and digital health.


  • Work with a mature cross functional agile teams on a hugely successful flagship product for the business (Patholytix)
  • Develop on-premise components, cloud microservices and and integrate with modern cloud platforms
  • Design, develop and test architecture changes, product features and improvements
  • Use containerization and cloud technology (compute, network and storage) to build, deploy and execute services and applications in the cloud
  • Support product monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality standards
  • Drive development team best practices and standards
  • Participate in peer reviews and promote good quality, secure development practices
  • Collaborate with other teams to improve existing products, services and tools
  • As an AI native team we use a variety of AI tools in our SDLC. We expect you to do the same / be familiar with using AI in Development.
  • Complete all mandatory company-wide compliance training and job-specific training required for the role, including QMS, ISMS, GxP, DocuSign, SDLC as applicable



About You (Skills and Experience):

  • A Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field is essential
  • 6/7+ years of work experience in a similar back end development role essential
  • Extensive experience in Java
  • Strong Spring ecosystem experience — Spring Boot and Spring Cloud (Gateway, Streams, Security/OAuth2, Spring Data)
  • Experience with
    • Event-driven architecture / Apache Kafka, distributed caching (i.e Hazelcast)
    • Web services, microservices and RESTful APIs
    • CI/CD solutions, testing frameworks and build tools
    • Docker, Kubernetes
    • AWS Cloud, MongoDB Atlas, Mongo Lucene, Terraform, Skaffold, Helm
    • Claude Code (BMAD method is a plus)
    • Other programming languages (Python, Javascript)
  • Previous experience working in a regulated environment
