Senior Software Engineer (Java, Spark)
Summary
The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and Apache Spark. The role involves collaborating with business analysts, mentoring junior developers, and managing CI/CD pipelines in an Agile environment.
Main responsibilities
As Java Software Engineer:
- Deliver fully tested source code complying with quality indicators objectives
- Address technical aspects with Architect and functional aspects with business analysts
- Liaise with business analysts for clarification and understanding of requirements
- Solution design using proven patterns, awareness of anti-patterns, performance tuning
- Analyze technical constraints considering functional impact
- Organize and take ownership of detailed technical documentation
- Provide detailed estimation for development of solution
- Develop test strategy in coordination with project manager / business analysts
- Perform design and code review for other team members
- Mentor junior team members
- Be proactive and ensure a continuous improvement mindset for the team
- Work in a fast-paced Agile work environment
- Report code quality indicators to Project manager / Team head periodically
- Adhoc duties as assigned
Qualifications and Profile
- This position requires a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in software development and testing
- Solid understanding in Java 17/21, Spring boot, Unix shell scripting, and MS SQL
- Experience in Apache Spark, Kubernetes and Docker
- Knowledge on both frontend and backend development
- Solution design using proven patterns, awareness of anti-patterns, performance tuning
- In-depth knowledge on Relational databases – MS SQL Server, Sql profiler, query analyzer
- Knowledge of scheduling tools (Airflow, Control-M)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab/ ArgoCD or similar)
- Good understanding & working knowledge of Agile/Scrum
