Senior Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to build, enhance, and support software solutions within a data-intensive healthcare technology environment. You will work across application development, data engineering, APIs, and performance optimization while collaborating with engineering and business stakeholders. The position combines hands-on development with troubleshooting, system enhancement, and continuous improvement across established product platforms. You will work with large and complex datasets while contributing to reliable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. Accountabilities

  • Support, enhance, and maintain high-quality software modules across established product platforms.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues reported by internal and external customers.
  • Design and implement software enhancements that improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
  • Document application specifications, architecture, design, features, and operational procedures before production deployment.
  • Develop solutions in accordance with established technology standards, development practices, and software engineering guidelines.
  • Apply appropriate phases of the Software Development Lifecycle while contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
  • Work with senior developers, distributed development teams, business owners, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Communicate technical and operational issues, risks, and potential solutions clearly and proactively to engineering and business leadership.
  • Work with large datasets and contribute to ETL and data engineering initiatives involving complex data environments.
  • Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and other database components to improve system performance.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, web services, and containerized application components.
  • Explore emerging technologies and propose innovative improvements that increase efficiency, quality, and business value.
  • Continuously expand technical knowledge as new technologies are evaluated and integrated into the product environment.
  • Mentor and support other developers by sharing technical expertise and development best practices.
  • Participate in special projects and additional initiatives as business and team priorities evolve.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
    • 4–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
    • At least 2 years of experience working with healthcare data or within another highly regulated industry.
    • Strong experience working with large and complex datasets, including ETL and data engineering processes.
    • Strong SQL expertise, including query optimization, stored procedures, triggers, and database performance tuning.
    • Strong knowledge of Spark and PySpark.
    • 4–5 years of professional experience with Java or Python.
    • 3+ years of experience developing APIs and working with containerized applications.
    • 4–5 years of experience with third-party platforms such as Appian and Cloudera Hadoop.
    • 4–5 years of experience working with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, HBase, and Hive.
    • 4–5 years of experience developing web services using Java and Spring Boot.
    • At least 1 year of experience with modern UI frameworks such as React.
    • Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI is highly preferred.
    • Familiarity with SAFe Agile practices is preferred.
    • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical information objectively.
    • Excellent attention to detail and quantitative aptitude when working with complex data and technical systems.
    • Ability to interpret data and communicate technical concepts and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong curiosity, learning agility, resilience, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
    • High standards of ethics and integrity when working with sensitive healthcare and business data.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

      • Base compensation range of $105,000–$145,000 per year.
