Senior Software Engineer

Requirements:
  • We require a solid understanding and demonstrated track record in software engineering fundamentals, including architecture, data structures, design patterns, event-driven design, multithreaded design, testing, and debugging.
  • We require experience with Microsoft .NET languages including VB.NET and C#.
  • We require experience with C++ programming.
  • We require experience with the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment.
  • We require experience with source code control systems such as Git.
  • We require adherence to software design and coding standards.
  • We require the ability to communicate effectively with peers, interdisciplinary engineering groups, customers, and suppliers, including delivering clear technical presentations.
  • We require the ability to collaborate with teams across the US, Europe, and Asia.
  • We require a self-driven approach, strong technical ability, a systematic approach, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • A bachelors degree is required with significant relevant experience.
  • A masters degree or advanced degree is desired with relevant experience in Software, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or Physics.
  • Preferred experience includes contributing to architecture and design for complex subsystems and influencing technical decisions through strong design and code reviews.
  • Preferred experience includes improving performance and diagnostics/observability for system-level software.
  • Preferred experience includes collaborating across teams on system integration and software releases for complex systems.
  • Preferred experience includes delivering AI/ML capabilities in products.
  • Preferred UX skills include wireframing, prototyping, and user flow design.
Responsibilities:
  • We deliver well-defined features and components with high-level guidance, including estimating work, communicating risks and tradeoffs, and delivering on schedule.
  • We collaborate cross-functionally across the development lifecycle to define architecture and create system- and subsystem-level requirements and specifications.
  • We implement and debug multithreaded code and support integration across system and subsystem boundaries, including hardware/software interfaces.
  • We develop C#/.NET and C++ software for GUI and data analysis, write maintainable code, and use AI-assisted tools responsibly under company security policies.
  • We build robust unit and integration tests and use profiling to improve performance, memory usage, reliability, and security.
  • We participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • We troubleshoot system and subsystem issues using logs and experiments, contribute to root-cause analysis, implement fixes with guidance, and help prevent recurrence.
  • We demonstrate motivation to independently learn and apply new software technologies.
  • We may travel occasionally to headquarters, customer sites, or other business locations, with travel expected to be less than 10% of working time.
