Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in COBOL programming, JCL, CICS, and DB2, along with proficiency in modern development tools such as GitHub, VS Code, CoPilot, and AI tools. This role requires a deep understanding of DB2 queries and a hands-on approach to software development, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet business requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using Enterprise COBOL, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Write and optimize complex DB2 queries to support application functionality and data retrieval.
• Utilize JCL for job scheduling and execution, ensuring efficient processing of batch jobs.
• Implement CICS for transaction processing, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
• Manage source code using Endevor and GitHub, ensuring version control and collaboration among team members.
• Leverage modern development tools such as VS Code and CoPilot to enhance productivity and code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong expertise in Enterprise COBOL programming.
• Proficient in JCL, CICS, and DB2.
• Hands-on experience with CA7 for job scheduling.
• Familiarity with Endevor for source code management.
• Experience using GitHub for version control.
• Proficient in using VS Code and CoPilot for development.
• Strong skills in writing and optimizing DB2 queries.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with AI tools to enhance development processes.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices.

Qualifications:
