What you'll do

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality software applications that align with the company's strategic goals and user requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and other engineering teams, to define project scopes and deliverables.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain high standards of software quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing software applications to enhance performance and reliability.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.
• Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and development.
• Participate in the agile development process, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of features.
• Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, processes, and systems to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Implement automated testing strategies to improve code quality and reduce the risk of defects in production.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on product features based on user needs and market demands.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS or Azure, and familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience with data modeling.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience working in the fintech industry or with payment processing systems is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, to facilitate full-stack development capabilities.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum practices, to contribute effectively to team dynamics.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Java, C#, or Python for backend development.
• Strong understanding of cloud services, particularly AWS or Azure.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools to ensure code reliability.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve software issues effectively.
