The role

We're a small, senior engineering team, and we plan to stay that way. Writing code is no longer the constraint. Judgement is. You'll own architecture and delivery across our core platform, and you'll be measured on the quality of the systems you design and the mistakes you prevent, not on lines of code.

What we're looking for

• Design judgement earned the hard way. You can explain why a design is wrong, not just that it feels wrong.

• A track record of systems that stayed maintainable, not just shipped.

• Fluency with agentic development: specs first, agents as a force multiplier, with a verification loop.

• Range across backend, front-end and DevOps, with Python at the centre.

• Low ego. You listen first and work toward consensus.

How we work

Small team, low process, high trust. Two-week release cadence, design specs reviewed carefully, and an active resistance to ticket sprawl. Based in New York City, with daily overlap across a team that spans Pacific Time to Western Europe.
