Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Senior Software Engineer builds and maintains real-time fraud detection and risk decisioning systems for lenders, using cloud infrastructure, APIs, and machine learning models in a regulated financial environment.

Salary: $127,424 - 153,456 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for 5–8+ years of software engineering experience delivering production systems.
  • We need someone with a proven record of building dependable, scalable systems and consistently carrying work through to completion.
  • Strong experience with distributed systems and full-stack development, including APIs, backend services, and user interfaces, is important.
  • Experience designing and scaling applications in cloud environments, with AWS preferred, is required.
  • You should be comfortable taking a hands-on approach to architecture, debugging, and critical technical decisions.
  • Experience working in high-growth or scaling environments and adapting systems through change is valued.
  • Solid experience with QA, release management, and progressive deployment methods such as shadow mode and canary releases is expected.
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability in distributed systems is needed.
  • Experience partnering with data science teams to productionize machine learning models is preferred.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted or agentic development tools to improve productivity and reduce mistakes is important.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions are required.
  • Experience in financial services, lending, or fraud detection is a plus.
  • A bachelors or masters degree is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • We design, build, and maintain APIs and real-time decisioning systems, owning the reliability and production performance of the components we support.
  • We contribute to front-end design and development for web-based products.
  • We help improve release practices by supporting QA efforts, expanding automated testing and regression coverage, and using safer deployment approaches.
  • We set a high standard for code quality and accountability, and we share technical guidance through reviews and peer collaboration.
  • We implement monitoring, alerting, and observability across the stack so we can identify and address issues early.
  • We help shape architecture across backend and frontend systems to support scalability, performance, and a consistent user experience.
  • We work to improve API response times.
  • We partner closely with Data Science to productionize machine learning models in real-time environments.
  • We support the live resolution of critical production incidents.
  • We follow and help strengthen engineering practices across CI/CD, incident response, and operational excellence.
  • We use modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, testing discipline, and engineering quality.
  • We collaborate with Product and Customer teams to configure and implement new customer integrations.
  • We ensure the systems we build align with security, compliance, and data governance expectations in a regulated financial environment.
  • We may also apply our experience to build toward predictable, low-risk releases and cohesive end-to-end platform performance.
