Senior Software Engineer
Summary
Senior full-stack engineer (one of four roles) at a Sydney financial services organization, placed via recruiter Profusion: design and deliver scalable cloud solutions with Java 17+, Spring Boot and Angular, and champion AI-assisted engineering tools like Copilot, Claude Code and Gemini. Hybrid role, 2-3 days per week in the Sydney office.
Profusion Group have partnered with a financial services organization in support of their expanding software development & engineering practice. We are currently supporting them with x4 Java/Angular full stack resources.
The client is located in Sydney and operate on a hybrid working model, 2-3 days per week will be required in office.
They are looking for someone with the following background / experience:
- Lead the design, development and delivery of scalable cloud-based solutions using Java 17+, Spring Boot and Angular, with a strong focus on performance, reliability and maintainability.
- Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools and practices (such as Copilot, Claude Code and Gemini), improving developer productivity, software quality and delivery efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate emerging technologies, deliver proof-of-concepts and identify opportunities for platform modernisation and continuous improvement.
- Desirable experience: AWS, Kafka, event-driven architectures, distributed workflows, platform engineering and internal developer platforms.
