Senior Software Engineer - Python & Django/Flask

About the Role

Our client, a fast-paced technology startup specializing in data analytics and AI solutions, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Python skills and experience in either Django or Flask frameworks. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and Django/Flask.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Develop and manage RESTful APIs for seamless integration with various frontend applications and third-party services.
• Implement and manage database solutions (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection for backend systems.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Stay abreast of emerging Python libraries, frameworks, and industry trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development using Python.
• Proven experience with Python web frameworks such as Django or Flask.
• Strong understanding of API design principles (RESTful) and experience building/consuming APIs.
• Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, fast-paced startup environment.
