Senior Software Engineer (Python)

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Python) to deliver Python-based services and integrations that power business teams through internal and SaaS platforms. You will own work from discovery and estimation to deployment on AWS, then monitor and support production systems.

Responsibilities

• Build secure, performant, cost-conscious Python services and integrations
• Convert business requirements into technical designs, estimates, and delivery plans
• Set technical specs and provide direction to junior engineers and external developers
• Own feature delivery from coding to deployment and ongoing production support
• Partner with stakeholders to refine scope, prioritize work, and validate feasibility
• Strengthen reliability and maintainability via testing, monitoring, and automation
• Write and maintain technical documentation for development and operations
• Report progress and surface risks and trade-offs to the project team

Requirements

• Hands-on Python expertise with a record of shipping production services
• Practical AWS experience designing or operating cloud infrastructure
• Solid SQL skills with experience using relational databases
• Domain familiarity with financial services or regulated environments that demand confidence-building systems
• Strong ability to solve problems and convert unclear inputs into actionable outputs
• Track record of managing stakeholders across business users and engineering partners
• High ownership and prioritization ability with reliable execution
• Effective written and spoken communication

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of AWS Glue, Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow, or Control-M
• Exposure to serverless or microservices architectures and REST APIs
• Experience with Kafka or Amazon Kinesis for messaging/streaming
