Senior Software Engineer – Robotics & Automation (8-months contract)

Our client is a leading global technology company seeking an experienced Full Stack Programmer to join its Infrastructure Automation team in Singapore. The role focuses on developing and integrating internal applications, building automation solutions, and streamlining operational workflows across infrastructure, network deployment, and data centre operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate internal applications and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency across infrastructure and network operations.
• Build full-stack applications and automation workflows, primarily using Python or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Collaborate with product, design, infrastructure, and operations teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop and optimise backend systems, APIs, databases, and user interfaces, ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to projects involving network deployment automation, optical networks, peering, robotics, and data centre supply chain operations.
• Design efficient system architectures and make sound technical decisions considering scalability, database performance, and business complexity.
• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned projects, from solution design and resource planning through development, testing, deployment, and delivery.
• Conduct code reviews, implement appropriate testing and monitoring, and continuously improve code quality and system performance.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, reduce technical debt, and ensure timely delivery within sprint cycles.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, with strong expertise in backend development and application engineering.
• Hands-on experience in Robotics and Automation, particularly involving AMRs, ASRS, and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS).
• Strong proficiency in Python or equivalent object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, PHP, or Node.js. Python is preferred.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, system design, data structures, algorithms, and database performance optimisation.
• Experience developing and delivering new software applications, automation platforms, or engineering solutions rather than focusing primarily on maintenance and support.
• Good understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, RESTful APIs, and system integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop clean, efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Proven experience leading technical initiatives, managing project delivery, and taking ownership of end-to-end development.

Good to Have

• Frontend development experience with React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Experience with GraphQL, Redis, and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• Experience in network automation, infrastructure automation, or large-scale operational workflows.
• Familiarity with tracking and data analytics tools such as Google Analytics (GA) and Google Tag Manager (GTM).
• Experience with responsive web design, mobile interfaces, CSS animations, and UI development.
