Senior Software Engineer

At TechnologyOne, our goal is to simplify life for our customers and help them succeed in an ever-changing world. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our HR engineering team and contribute to the ongoing development of our HR suite products.

Working with colleagues across Brisbane and Kuala Lumpur, you'll build large-scale, mission-critical software used by organisations across Australia and beyond. You don't need HR product experience: what matters is your ability to build reliable, well-designed applications in C#. You'll join a team that values curiosity, collaboration, practical problem-solving and continuous learning, where your work makes a meaningful difference to customers.

If you enjoy working on complex systems, writing clean and maintainable code, and delivering software that genuinely helps people, this role offers the chance to do work that matters within a supportive team. You'll also explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to improve how we build, test and deliver software. We see it as an enabler, helping our people build on their expertise. You'll be supported to develop your skills and use AI effectively in your everyday work.

What you'll be doing…

• Build and improve product features. Collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver clean, maintainable C# code and intuitive solutions to complex requirements.
  
  

• Build quality and security in. Apply secure development practices, automated testing and performance optimisation to deliver robust, scalable software.
  
  

• Use AI with ownership. Use AI to code, debug and test, taking full responsibility for all code you deliver.
  
  

• Explore what's next. Work with developers and architects to apply technologies that improve engineering productivity and product capabilities.
  
  

• Share your experience. Mentor other developers through code reviews, knowledge sharing and practical guidance.
  
  

• Get to know our products deeply. Understand their functionality, design, architecture and the customer needs behind them, using that knowledge to build more effective solutions.
  
  

• Improve how we work. Help refine our development practices, tools and ways of working.
  

What you'll bring…

• Strong C# and .NET development skills, with at least five years of proven commercial experience in C#.
  

• Confident SQL skills, including efficient queries, performance troubleshooting and database optimisation.
  

• Experience integrating systems through RESTful and SOAP services.
  

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools, with the judgement to critically evaluate their output and take full ownership of all generated deliverables.
  

• A focus on maintainable code, practical problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  

• Clear communication, a collaborative approach and a willingness to support other developers across locations.
  

• Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  

• Comfort working with tools such as Git, Rider, Jira and Confluence.
  

• React experience is a plus, as some of our products use React on the front end.
