Senior Software Engineer — IT Cluster Platform Location: Remote, India About the Role Our client's IT Developer Enablement Applications team is seeking two Senior Software Engineer contractors for a role that blends full-stack development, DevOps, and systems engineering. The successful candidates will build intuitive developer interfaces while ensuring that the underlying infrastructure is automated, secure, and scalable, and will help create, modify, and modernize applications for internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Execute the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) within an agile environment. Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and highly available infrastructure systems supporting business applications and services. Automate repetitive tasks and processes using scripting and configuration management tools (e.g., Python, JavaScript/React, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, Ansible Tower). Manage cloud-based infrastructure (OpenShift) and optimize resources for reliability, performance, and security. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain uptime and reliability through proactive alerting, metrics, and incident response. Partner with development teams to build seamless CI/CD deployment workflows using GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins, ensuring code moves to production safely and efficiently. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents, document findings, and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime. Continuously improve system architecture, deployment processes, and tooling to enhance operational efficiency and scalability. Apply security best practices across infrastructure, including access controls, network configurations, and compliance requirements. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and project team members to maintain visibility into development efforts. Respond promptly and professionally to customer tickets and inquiries. Monitor system health through advanced metrics and alerting, and lead incident response efforts to maintain strict uptime SLAs. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise software applications. 5+ years of experience with JavaScript/React, AngularJS, Node.js, and Ansible. 5+ years of experience in cloud service development, compute engineering, automation, architecture, and implementation on AWS. 3+ years of experience with OpenShift. Expert-level proficiency with GitLab/GitHub CI/CD. Experience with Backstage plugins. Working knowledge of SQL and database coding. Demonstrated experience across the full SDLC. Experience with containers and container orchestration tools (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.). Advanced knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tooling (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.). Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.). Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience with Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, etc.). Strong Linux/RHEL system administration skills. Interview Process Recruiter Screen — background, logistics, and overall fit.
