About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Research & Development team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building scalable backend systems, and transforming ideas into production-ready software.

You will work on designing and developing next-generation backend solutions within a distributed architecture, collaborating closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and fellow engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

· Contribute to the technical design, development, and innovation of software solutions within a distributed N-tier architecture.

· Translate product concepts, business requirements, and high-level ideas into well-defined technical solutions and production-ready software.

· Design and develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.

· Design, optimize, and maintain SQL/PL-SQL queries, database schemas, and data access layers.

· Participate in application architecture discussions and contribute to both high-level and low-level design decisions.

· Collaborate closely with Product Management, QA, DevOps, and Hardware teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

· Perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices, maintainability, and code quality.

· Troubleshoot complex production issues using diagnostic tools, logs, heap/thread dumps, and performance analysis.

· Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team.

· Continuously evaluate new technologies and engineering practices to drive innovation within the R&D organization.

Required Skills & Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

· 3–6 years of hands-on experience in backend software development.

· Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.

· Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Design, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.

· Strong understanding of distributed systems and multi-tier application architecture.

· Hands-on experience developing event-driven applications using Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms.

· Strong knowledge of SQL/PL-SQL and relational databases, with experience in query optimization and database design.

· Understanding of reverse proxies, API gateways, and load balancing technologies (e.g., Nginx).

· Exposure to application-level and centralized caching mechanisms (e.g., Redis or similar).

· Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and critical thinking skills with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Good to Have

· Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

· Exposure to microservices architecture.

· Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

· Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
