Senior Software Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

• We are seeking an innovative Test Software Engineer in Taiwan for our memory business to bridge the gap between complex engineering design and high-volume mass production by developing robust software tools and APIs for rigorous product testing.
• Your core focus will be translating Windows-centric, expert-level vendor Mass Production Tools (MPTools) into safe, error-proof counterparts optimized for our Linux-based production floor and non-expert operators.
• To accelerate this critical cross-platform development, you will heavily leverage modern AI-assisted coding workflows (such as Cursor) to efficiently build the sophisticated testing ecosystems that ensure our manufacturing quality and streamline production

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and deploy comprehensive, production-level software tools and frameworks to ensure the proper testing, validation, and quality control of products on the manufacturing floor.
• Write and maintain robust APIs that enable seamless interaction between our Linux-based Production testers and the controller manufacturers' standalone (often Windows-based) MPTools.
• Translate complex, engineering-focused workflows and MPTools into safe, streamlined applications with built-in checks and balances suitable for non-expert production floor operators.
• Bridge the operating system divide by adapting, communicating with, or porting functionality from Windows-based vendor engineering tools into a highly efficient Linux mass production ecosystem.
• Utilize AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor) to rapidly develop, debug, and optimize software counterparts to Engineering MPTools, ensuring high efficiency and code quality.
• Implement and troubleshoot communications using SATA and NVMe protocols, including the handling of Vendor Unique Commands.
• Work closely with both the Engineering and Production teams to understand the nuanced differences between engineering requirements (flexibility, deep diagnostics) and production requirements (stability, speed, error-proofing, operator simplicity).
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites and industry events as needed
