Summary
Senior Software Engineer/System Integrator who independently develops software and leads integration between business applications and industrial automation equipment (PLCs, robots) using C#/.NET, SQL databases, RESTful APIs, SAP and MES, while mentoring junior engineers and owning projects across the full development lifecycle.
Salary: RM 8,000 – RM 10,000 per month
About the role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer / System Integrator with a strong background in software development and industrial automation. You will take ownership of software development projects, lead technical implementation and contribute to the integration of automation systems and business applications. Working closely with the engineering, project management and technical teams, you will play an important role in developing reliable software solutions, improving system performance and supporting the company's growing industrial automation business.
Key responsibilities
Lead and independently develop software applications, features and system solutions using C# and other relevant programming languages
Design scalable, reliable and maintainable software solutions in accordance with established coding standards and development practices
Design, manage and optimise SQL databases, including the development and maintenance of tables, views, stored procedures and database structures
Lead software integration activities between different systems, applications and industrial automation equipment
Develop and maintain system interfaces and integration solutions involving RESTful APIs, SAP, MES and other business or operational platforms
Support integration between software applications, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), collaborative robots and other industrial automation equipment
Take ownership of assigned software development projects throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design to development, testing, deployment and maintenance
Provide technical guidance and support to junior software engineers and team members
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system architecture, database structures, algorithms, flowcharts and software development records
Monitor software performance, investigate system issues and provide technical support during implementation and post-deployment
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in software development, system integration or application engineering
Strong hands-on programming experience in C# and the .NET development environment
Proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
Good experience in SQL database development and management, preferably with SQL Server and Oracle
Experience in software architecture, application development, API integration and system troubleshooting
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, SAP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or other enterprise and operational systems
Ability to independently manage software development tasks, solve complex technical problems and deliver projects within agreed timelines
Experience in code review, technical documentation and guiding junior software engineers
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
