About the role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Implementation Consultant with strong POS expertise to lead end-to-end implementation projects for retail clients in Singapore. The successful candidate will act as a key functional and technical interface between the client and implementation teams, with responsibility for POS solution design, system configuration, testing, data migration, training, go-live and post-implementation support.
This role is particularly suited to candidates with hands-on experience implementing POS solutions within chain retail environments, and who are comfortable engaging with both operational users and senior client stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Lead the full lifecycle implementation of the ERP/POS module, covering requirements gathering, business analysis, solution design, system configuration, testing, data migration, cutover, go-live and post-implementation support.
Analyse complex POS-related business requirements and translate them into practical system solutions.
Engage with middle and senior management of retail clients to understand operational pain points and recommend improvements across store and retail operations.
Prepare and review key project documentation, including business and functional requirements, solution design documents, test plans and UAT documentation, data migration plans, cutover and go-live plans, user manuals and training materials.
Design and deliver training programmes for key users, store personnel and other stakeholders.
Provide functional and system support for complex POS issues and drive problems through to resolution.
Monitor project progress, quality, risks and deliverables for POS-related workstreams.
Independently manage and deliver small-to-medium-sized implementation projects, while supporting larger and concurrent projects where required.
Work closely with teams responsible for OMS, inventory, distribution, finance and membership systems to ensure successful system integration.
Analyse integration issues between POS and upstream/downstream systems and coordinate resolution with relevant technical teams.
About you
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Management.
Minimum 3 years of experience in retail ERP/SaaS implementation, with significant hands-on experience in POS implementation.
Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end POS implementation projects, preferably within chain retail environments.
Strong understanding of integrated retail workflows covering POS, OMS, inventory, distribution, membership and finance.
Strong knowledge of core POS business processes, including checkout and payment, promotions and discounts, membership and loyalty, stocktaking, stock transfers, reconciliation and settlement, and store operations.
Proficient in MySQL and SQL, with the ability to perform data validation, troubleshooting and analysis.
Strong understanding of ERP implementation methodologies, including requirements gathering, UAT, data migration, cutover and go-live.
Able to independently conduct business analysis, identify root causes and formulate practical solutions.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to independently prepare professional project and business documentation.
Fluent in both English and Chinese, to communicate with colleagues in China and local clients.
