Senior Solution Architect
Description
Company Description
Advanced Vision delivers end-to-end security, smart solutions, and AI-driven operational platforms for governments and enterprises. We take ownership of the entire solution lifecycle, from strategy and solution design to software development, integration, deployment, and ongoing operations.
Our solutions support airports, seaports, land border crossings, immigration and border management, smart cities, public safety, critical infrastructure, and national command-and-control centers.
As part of our growth, we are building a dedicated software development department in Jordan. We are seeking an accomplished Senior Solution Architect to define its technical direction, lead the engineering team, and take ownership of the architecture and technical delivery of complex government and enterprise solutions.
We are looking for a senior technical leader who can sit with the customer, understand the operational challenge, define the complete solution, and lead the team through successful delivery.
The successful candidate will combine architectural depth with practical engineering judgment, clear communication, and strong management discipline. They will help build our software department in Jordan and shape the platforms behind complex government, security, and critical infrastructure projects.
Role Description
This is a senior leadership role combining end-to-end solution architecture, customer engagement, engineering team management, and technical delivery accountability.
You will work directly with customers, government representatives, and other stakeholders to understand operational requirements and translate them into complete, practical solution designs. Your responsibility will extend across applications, data, integrations, connected devices, infrastructure requirements, security, deployment, and operational support.
You will turn approved designs into clear development plans, assign responsibilities, guide developers, and monitor progress and quality throughout delivery. You will serve as the principal technical point of contact for customers and internal teams, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure that the delivered solution meets agreed requirements.
The role requires a technically credible leader who can make sound architectural decisions, challenge assumptions, communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, and maintain hands-on involvement where needed.
End-to-End Solution Architecture
- Own the complete solution architecture, from initial discovery and requirements analysis through implementation, acceptance, and operational handover.
- Translate business processes and operational needs into documented solution designs, technical specifications, integration requirements, and measurable acceptance criteria.
- Define application, data, integration, security, infrastructure, and deployment architectures in coordination with the relevant specialists.
- Design for scalability, performance, availability, resilience, disaster recovery, maintainability, and secure operation.
- Evaluate technology options and explain architectural decisions, trade-offs, costs, dependencies, and risks.
- Assess existing platforms and develop practical roadmaps for modernization, integration, and new capabilities.
Customer and Government Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead customer workshops, requirements discussions, technical presentations, and solution design reviews.
- Work confidently with government stakeholders, operational users, consultants, technology partners, and senior management.
- Clarify scope, assumptions, constraints, system interfaces, and customer responsibilities before development begins.
- Prepare and present technical proposals, architecture documents, implementation approaches, and responses to technical requirements.
- Maintain alignment between agreed customer requirements, the solution architecture, and the development plan, assessing the impact of changes throughout the project.
Engineering Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and develop Advanced Vision’s software engineering team in Jordan.
- Break solution designs into clear work packages and development tasks, with defined owners, priorities, dependencies, and completion criteria.
- Assign work according to team capabilities and project needs, and monitor progress, workload, quality, and delivery commitments.
- Lead technical reviews, remove blockers, resolve escalated issues, and take corrective action when delivery or quality is at risk.
- Mentor developers and senior engineers, support recruitment, and assess team performance and development needs.
- Establish engineering standards, development workflows, documentation practices, code reviews, testing, and release controls.
Technical Delivery and Integration
- Oversee implementation across applications, APIs, databases, third-party platforms, hardware devices, and external government or enterprise systems.
- Maintain strong technical oversight of solutions built with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core, alongside other technologies selected for each project.
- Review critical designs and code, and contribute directly to prototypes, complex integrations, and technically challenging components when required.
- Coordinate with project managers, hardware, R&D, infrastructure, security, implementation, and operations teams to deliver a fully integrated solution.
- Validate performance, security, reliability, and integration readiness through appropriate reviews and testing.
- Support customer acceptance testing, deployment, go-live, and handover to support teams.
- Provide management with clear updates on technical progress, resource needs, risks, and decisions requiring escalation.
- Travel to customer and project locations for workshops, design reviews, integration, acceptance testing, and critical delivery activities.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive experience in enterprise software engineering and solution architecture, with a proven record of leading complex solutions from requirements through production deployment.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex government or public-sector projects, including direct engagement with government customers and stakeholders.
- Proven ownership of end-to-end solution architecture spanning multiple applications, integrations, data sources, and deployment environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and taking accountability for technical delivery.
- Strong practical expertise in C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core, combined with broader knowledge of enterprise technologies and the ability to select appropriate tools for different requirements.
- Strong experience with APIs, distributed systems, integration patterns, relational databases, and data modelling; Microsoft SQL Server experience is particularly relevant.
- Sound understanding of identity and access management, application security, auditability, high availability, disaster recovery, and operational monitoring.
- Experience designing solutions for on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments, including environments with restricted connectivity or security constraints.
- Experience modernizing existing platforms and managing technical dependencies across multiple systems and suppliers.
- Ability to produce clear architecture documentation, technical specifications, estimates, and implementation roadmaps.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic, including the ability to lead workshops and present complex solutions to senior technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, planning, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally as required.
