About the Position

Our client, a leading global organization in the foodservice and distribution industry, is advancing a major Data and AI transformation and strengthening the architecture behind its enterprise analytics ecosystem. We are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect – Data & AI to lead the architecture and design of complex, enterprise-scale Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI solutions.

This is a highly senior, hands-on architecture role for someone who can translate enterprise strategy and architecture standards into solutions that work in production. You will work across modern cloud data platforms, enterprise analytics, semantic architecture, ML/AI, Generative AI, RAG, and agentic AI, while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, governed, and aligned with enterprise standards.

We are looking for an experienced architect who combines strong technical depth with excellent architectural judgment and communication skills. You should be comfortable designing complex solutions directly, influencing senior technical teams, navigating architecture governance, and clearly communicating technical decisions and trade-offs to business and technology leaders.

What You’ll Do

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture for complex enterprise Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI initiatives.
• Architect AI-powered analytics solutions combining enterprise data, ML models, AI agents, conversational analytics, and modern user experiences.
• Design architectures for Generative AI, RAG, natural-language analytics, and agentic AI workflows using governed enterprise data and knowledge sources.
• Architect ML/AI enablement capabilities, including feature stores, model serving, and MLOps pipelines.
• Design analytics solutions on modern cloud data platforms, particularly GCP and BigQuery.
• Establish architecture patterns for semantic layers, dimensional models, governed metrics and KPIs, certified datasets, and self-service analytics.
• Define how analytics and AI solutions consume enterprise data through governed data products, semantic models, feature stores, APIs, and approved integration patterns.
• Translate enterprise reference architectures and standards into practical project-level designs and ensure architectural integrity throughout delivery.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Data Platform, AI, Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Governance teams on solution design and technical decisions.
• Lead architecture reviews and contribute to Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), Key Design Decisions (KDDs), reference architectures, and reusable solution patterns.
• Define architecture standards for performance, scalability, security, observability, cost efficiency, and operational supportability.
• Incorporate FinOps, lineage, metadata, data quality, access controls, and security requirements into solution designs.
• Lead proofs of concept and technology evaluations across the analytics, semantic, ML, and AI ecosystem.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for complex architecture decisions and design trade-offs.
• Mentor architects, engineers, analysts, and other technical professionals while maintaining strong hands-on involvement.
• Clearly communicate architecture decisions, recommendations, risks, and trade-offs to technical teams and senior stakeholders.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• 10+ years of professional experience in Data and Analytics, including at least 5+ years architecting enterprise analytics solutions.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical direction to architects and senior technical professionals.
• Deep hands-on expertise designing analytics solutions on modern cloud data platforms, ideally GCP and BigQuery.
• Strong experience with enterprise BI and analytics technologies such as Looker, LookML, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable platforms.
• Strong expertise in dimensional modeling, semantic modeling, semantic layers, and governed enterprise metrics.
• Experience with technologies and architectural patterns involving dbt, feature stores, model serving, and MLOps.
• Strong understanding of modern AI architectures, including Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, natural-language analytics, and agentic workflows.
• Experience designing ML/AI solutions using Vertex AI or comparable enterprise cloud AI platforms.
• Experience operating within formal architecture governance environments, including ADRs/KDDs, architecture review boards, reference architectures, and pattern libraries.
• Experience integrating analytics solutions with enterprise data platforms through governed interfaces and shared architecture standards.
• Strong command of non-functional architecture, including performance, scalability, security, observability, FinOps, and operational supportability.
• Ability to evaluate complex technical alternatives and make sound architecture decisions based on business and technical requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to operate as a player-coach, remaining technically hands-on while providing architectural direction across multiple teams and initiatives.

• Deep hands-on expertise with GCP, BigQuery, and Vertex AI.
• Experience architecting AI-powered analytics platforms combining enterprise data, ML models, AI agents, and conversational interfaces.
• Experience designing RAG architectures connecting LLMs with governed enterprise data and knowledge sources.
• Experience designing or implementing agentic AI and multi-agent workflows.
• Advanced experience establishing enterprise semantic layers and governed metric frameworks using LookML, dbt Semantic Layer, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing feature stores, model-serving architectures, and enterprise MLOps capabilities.
• Experience working with federated or domain-oriented Data and Analytics operating models.
• Experience designing analytics onboarding or integration patterns for M&A environments.
• TOGAF, DAMA CDMP, or equivalent architecture/data management certifications.
• Industry experience in supply chain, distribution, retail, or food services.
