hackajob is partnering directly with BNY Mellon to hire for this role. We're seeking a future team member for the role of Full-Stack Engineer (Senior Specialist) to join our Finance Hub team. This role is located in Manchester.


Role Overview


The role focuses on strong data analysis skills, logical thinking, problem solving, and system design to develop scalable solutions/ AI-enabled capabilities across data platforms and applications. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the full lifecycle of software development - from gathering requirements, design, build & implement.


In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:


  • Define source-to-target mapping, lineage, and data quality rules
  • Oversee ETL design in Oracle ensure control points (reconciliations, validations)
  • Partner with Axiom team for model point alignment and submission readiness
  • Drive UAT planning, execution, and production cutover
  • Stakeholder communication, status, and risk/issue management

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:


Education


  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, AI, Data Science, or related quantitative field

Experience and Skills


  • Experience in software development, especially within the financial services industry is a plus
  • Strong Python, HDFS, Oracle database knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with Axiom (plus) and regulatory reporting flows (plus)
  • Excellent communication and proven stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Skilled in PySpark, HDFS, SQL, Airflow, data modeling, and ETL processing
  • Familiarity with GitLab and Jupyter Notebook is preferred
  • Knowledge of Java will be considered an added advantage
