Job purpose

Lead and manage the quality assurance & performance function to ensure the effective implementation of quality assurance frameworks, methodologies, and performance management systems across the organization. Drive the establishment of leading practices, governance standards, and operational excellence in quality assurance activities. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements. Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and competency development within the quality assurance domain. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance quality and organizational performance.

Key accountabilities

Job specific:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks, methodologies, and standards to ensure consistency and excellence in practices across the organization.
  • Lead the establishment and maintenance of systems and processes to monitor quality and performance, providing timely insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Drive the implementation of excellence strategies and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to standardize governance and operational practices across the organization.
  • Lead quality assurance reviews and maturity assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
  • Establish and maintain data-driven management dashboards and tools to facilitate performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement in practices through the adoption of advanced technologies and methodologies.
  • Develop and implement competency development programs for professionals, supporting their continuous learning and career growth.
  • Manage the succession planning for leadership and other critical positions within the organization.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of functions, providing strategic insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international standards, regulations, and best practices.

Generic:

  • Supervision
    Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
    Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective business objectives.
  • Budgets
    Provide input for preparation of the function/division/department/section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives.
    Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
  • Policies, systems, processes & procedures
    Implement approved function/division/department/section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with company and international standards.
  • Performance management
    Contribute to the achievement of the approved performance objectives for the function/division/department/section in line with the company performance framework.
  • Innovation and continuous improvement
    Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
    Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
  • Health, safety, environment (HSE) and sustainability
    Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and company code of practices.
  • Reports
    Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for company management.

Communication & working relationship

Internal:

  • Regular contacts with chief audit & assurance officer, group audit & assurance senior vice presidents, vice presidents, department managers, and other team members of group audit & assurance executive function.
  • Regular contacts with group companies’ audit & assurance division VPs / management team with respect to rolling out audit & assurance standards, frameworks, methodologies, policies and procedures, and quality assurance and performance management across the group.
  • Regular contacts with relevant directorates, divisions, departments, and functions within the organization (for example, TEO, group digital and cyber security, group communication, group human capital, group corporate governance etc.).
  • Regular contacts with group audit excellence spokes at the organization and group companies.
  • Issue-based contacts with audit committees of group companies.

External:

  • Regular contacts with external auditors and other assurance providers to ensure adequate audit coverage and minimize duplicate efforts.
  • Frequent contacts with internal audit service providers to monitor the performance of services under co-sourcing agreements.
  • Issue/project-based contacts with certification bodies, industry associations, regulatory bodies and consultants.
  • Contacts with government accountability authorities regarding government audits.
  • Knowledge sharing and benchmarking communications and contacts with industry peers and international shareholders.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills

Minimum qualification
Bachelor degree in finance, business administration or management.

Minimum experience & knowledge & skills
10 years of experience.
